Professional Services
Marketing provides a number of marketing skills training programs
for professionals at all levels. Marketing training is an
essential component of keeping client service and marketing
in the forefront of everyone's mind. Our services include
customizing the training messages with pre-surveys, training
program and curriculum development, delivery of the training
modules, and the creation of ongoing follow-up strategies
with participants to reinforce the messages conveyed in training.
Below are some examples:
- Served as co-trainer and facilitator for the firmwide
attorney marketing training program at a 140-attorney law
firm. The four month course was based upon the Wilson
Learning Worldwide Counselor Approach® model helping
professionals understand the marketing philosophy surrounding
relating, discovering, advocating, and supporting.
- Conducted a training session on "Turning Contacts into
Clients: Networking Basics for Associates" at a 35-attorney
law firm in Minneapolis, MN.
- Conducted a training session with the litigation associates
of a 140-attorney law firm on "What Every Litigation Associate
Needs to Know about Marketing".
- Developed and delivered a multi-part associate training
program for a 35-attorney Minneapolis law firm on topics
including cross-marketing, networking, and individual marketing
planning.
- Conducted networking training program for a venture capital
firm providing funding to ethnic minority-owned businesses
in the Twin Cities area.
- Served as a guest speaker and trainer at numerous undergraduate
and graduate programs as well as being involved in a number
of educationally-focused training programs where either
CLE or college credit was granted for institutions including:
The University of St. Thomas, The University of Minnesota's
Carlson School of Management, Bethel College, Concordia
University, and North Hennepin Community College.
- Conducted an overview marketing training program on effective
marketing strategies for accounting firms.
- Created curriculum for and presented a marketing skills
development program including a session on client service
entitled, "Defining Service from The Client's Perspective"
and a sales training session entitled, "I Went to School
to Become a Court Reporter Not a Salesperson".
- Served as internal marketing trainer for a 250-attorney
international law firm leading programs on topics including
strategic firmwide and individual planning, cross-marketing,
client service, and prospecting and networking.
- Conducted a training session on "Marketing Your Collaborative
Law Practice" at the Collaborative Law Institute in Minneapolis;
CLE credit granted.
- Conducted training for a worldwide affiliation of law
firms. Training session entitled, "How to Measure
and Improve Client Satisfaction;" CLE credit granted.
- Trained and facilitated discussion on "Law Firm Websites:
The Future of Online Marketing Strategies" for the Legal
Marketing Association.
- Conducted CLE training at the Minnesota State Bar Association's
ADR Section. Training session entitled, "Building
and Marketing an ADR Practice: What Works and What Doesn't."
- Served as trainer and faculty member for Minnesota CLE's
Certified Civil Mediation Skills training program.
Training session entitled, "Marketing Your ADR Practice:
Attracting and Retaining Clients and Referral Sources;"
CLE credit granted.
- Served as college instructor for North Hennepin Coummunity
College, Center for Training and Development. Courses
developed and taught included, "Effective Promotional Writing,"
and "Exceeding Client Expectations."
- Marketing trainer for All District Legal Education (now
Clarion Legal). Session entitled, "How to Market Your
Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice."
- Served as lead trainer and CLE course chair; developed
CLE program entitled, "Marketing for Lawyers: Trends, Tips
and Techniques." Developed program agenda, secured
speakers, and personally presented at the event.
- Delivered, as keynote speaker at a CLE presentation, a
session entitled, "Attracting and Retaining Women Business
Owners as Clients and Other Niche Marketing Strategies".
